Your Android phone is getting a new security secret weapon - and it's a big deal

Google is introducing an automatic reboot feature on Android devices every three days as a proactive security measure. By defaulting to a PIN-only access after each reboot, the feature enhances security by deterring unauthorized access and making data retrieval more difficult for potential attackers. Additionally, during this state (Before First Lock), phone data remains encrypted, complicating efforts by authorities seeking to access the device. This feature will be rolled out in Google's April 2025 System update and applies to tablets but excludes wearables, smart TVs, or Android Auto devices. Notably, Apple recently replicated a similar security feature on iPhones.
